A lot of users come in thanks to Google, or some similar engine, actually. It helps that we're one of the largest and most active text-based roleplaying websites out there.
No worries. It's great that you're diving right in. Please don't hesitate to ask around for help if you need it. Generally, checking out the stickied topics at the top of a forum will set you on the right track.
As you get settled in, don't forget to check out the RPG Rules we have here. You can find them by clicking the "Our Rules" link at the top of the page. There are only five of them, don't worry, but they'll help you get a sense of the standards we hold ourselves to as a community.
