TURIN, Italy (AP) -Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero has been released from the hospital after getting bloodied by a kick to his left temple during Sunday's 2-0 win over Cesena.
Del Piero needed eight stitches after Cesena defender Marco Rossi struck the 37-year-old forward with his boot. The stitches were applied in Juve's changing room and he was then brought to the Fornaca clinic for further tests.
He'll likely need a couple days of complete rest before resuming training.
Del Piero says on his Facebook page "Just released, everything's fine. Ale."
Del Piero has seen little playing time this season and was given a good chance when he came on in the 56th minute, but the injury occurred six minutes later.
